Play this piece of a melody.
It’s not actually called Fifth Avenue. Let me know if you recognize it. A hint is that it should be played very slowly to sound correct.
As with a lot of music, there are some phrases of Italian on it.
‘Molto’ means ‘very’. Like ‘muy’ in Spanish. ‘Lento’ is slowly, again similar to the Spanish word.
The ‘espr.’ is short for espresivo – expressive.
If you play this too fast, it ends up not sounding like it should.

Hello all. Not sure what KT’s comment means:
“Is A natural just A? It means there was a sharp or flat on that note previously….yes?”
Thanks
Mike
Neal says
Flat symbol: b
Sharp symbol: #
Natural symbol: ♮
If you read music you see all three symbols.
Say there was a Bb, then all notes on the staff where B is within that measure are played as Bb. The ‘b’ symbol is not written each time.
If the music should not have all the B’s as Bb’s then you use the natural symbol.

Yes, that’s correct.

hearing U play it.
Gil says
Yes, that would b Ava Maria
Neal says
Correct, you get that from playing it yourself or hearing me play it?
