Claudio on Cry Me a River
Hey Claudio,
Sounds okay, but seems like you’re playing some wrong notes in the second phrase. Specifically, sounds like you play a note that’s too high.
Hearing that makes me want to know how much you have listened to this song and how you are learning it.
Have you listened to it deliberately as you learn to play it?
Or do you kind of know it and are sort of learning it from the sheet music?
Thanks
-Neal
Neal:
I am surprise by your comments, since I guessed was ok.
I started to learn by ear this song, then I have found the sheet music with a play along (the same that asked for you since some youtube videos I saw).
I am attaching the music sheet. Would you please let me know wich is the notes you are mentioned are too high?
Tks!
Claudio
Your recording wasn’t bad, but something did seem a little off in that second phrase. And the rhythm in a few places is off by a little bit.
In that part where I thought I heard a wrong note, the problem to my ear is you are emphasizing the high note more than it should be. You have space after that note which makes the note stand out more and interrupts the phrase.
There is a phrase mark over the full measure into the half note in the next measure. Therefore there should not be any space between the E and the B.
In some places your rhythm is more accurate, overall it is not consistent though. In the middle of the song with a lot of triplets and some sixteenth notes, things fall apart. I think you have not really seen rhythms like that too many times.
2. Work on triplets.
Thanks
